The Newark Arts Alliance displays art by local artists in monthly exhibitions throughout the year in our Exhibition Gallery. Exhibitions are a mix of themed shows, which are open to submissions, and solo/group shows. For themed shows, the non-refundable submission fees are $5 for NAA Members and $10 for Non-Members; fees are per work. Maximum submission: 3 works per show. Click here to download a copy of the 2017 Exhibition Schedule.
We encourage community members to submit works of art to our themed exhibitions. Art must be dropped off during the submission dates to be considered (click on an exhibition title for its submission dates and more info). Artists under 18 must have a parent, guardian, or teacher sign their submission form.
Works can be for sale or not. For sold works, the NAA will take a 30% commission for NAA Members, 40% for Non-Members, and 20% for Member Volunteers (volunteers are typically gallery monitors).
Jury criteria: originality (no kits or copies); well-crafted, skillful execution; and professional presentation. For hanging works, artists should attach a tight hanging wire across the back of the work about one-quarter to one-third of the way from the top. Central hanging devices (e.g. rings and saw-tooth hangers) do not work with the NAA hanging system.

Applying for Solo & Group Shows
Applications for Solo & Group Shows are reviewed each year by our Exhibition Gallery Committee. Applications for 2018 will be due by October 22, 2017. Application will be available soon.
The Exhibition Gallery Committee
The Newark Arts Alliance’s Exhibition Gallery is coordinated by our Exhibition Gallery Committee. This Committee is comprised of an NAA Board Member and volunteers from our community. The Exhibition Gallery Committee chooses artists from our community to jury the themed exhibitions. You may contact the Exhibition Gallery Committee by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note: Due to the volume of submissions and space considerations, even excellent work is sometimes not accepted. The Committee will not respond to queries on why individual works were not accepted by the jurors, nor why individual solo show applications were not chosen for display.
