Our first joint fundraising event, the Four Seasons Gala, was held on November 4th, 2006, in the ballroom of the U.D. Trabant Center, in Newark, Delaware. Mayor Vance Funk and Terri Kelly (President and CEO of W.L.Gore & Associates) were our honorary co-chairs. Newark City Council member Paul Pomeroy was our celebrity auctioneer. The Four Seasons Gala raised over $20,000 for the Newark Arts Alliance, Newark Symphony Orchestra and Mid-Atlantic Ballet. You can see highlights from the evening below.

Gala patrons heard the Newark Symphony Orchestra perform selections from Sacrae Symphoniae, by Giovanni Gabrieli, and watched the Mid-Atlantic Ballet perform a scene from The Nutcracker.

Guests enjoyed gourmet food from wonderful local restaurants, including Caffe Gelato, Matilda's, Blue Crab Grill, Home Grown Cafe, Iron Hill Brewery and Brewed Awakenings. Auction items included paintings, prints, ceramics, jewelry and other artwork by talented local artists, as well as merchandise and gift certificates generously donated by local businesses.

The grand raffle prize was two tickets donated by Southwest Airlines!

Home Grown Cafe
A raffle winner's name is announced.   Home Grown Cafe, on Main Street in Newark, was one of the restaurants that offered gourmet food to the guests.
