Many thanks to those who attended and supported the 4th annual Mosaic Gala, themed "The Roaring 20s," on November 7 at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Newark. This elegant evening was a joint fundraiser for several local arts organizations.
Mosaic is a collaboration of four non-profit cultural groups from Newark, Delaware: the Delaware Dance Company, the Mid-Atlantic Ballet, the Newark Arts Alliance and the Newark Symphony Orchestra. Starting with the Four Seasons Gala in 2006, we decided that by working together we could help fund our many programs while developing new audiences for our performances, classes, exhibitions and other activities.
The gala featured food and drinks, live and silent auctions, and performances by members of our organizations. This year's honorary event chair was Newark Mayor Vance Funk. And once again, our celebrity auctioneer was New Castle County Executive Chris Coons!
The auction included artworks created by members of the Newark Arts Alliance and baskets of merchandise and gift certificates generously donated by local businesses. Please take a look at some of the items from the auction.
The funds raised by this event will help all four of our organizations during the coming year. Thanks to all who helped!
