Harvest Arts Festival imageA celebration of the arts including fine art and craft exhibitors, live acoustic music, fresh food and produce exhibitors, kids art activities, and a sidewalk chalk drawing competition along the sidewalks in downtown Newark for ages 4 and up. Chalk drawing registration is $2 each. Art activities cost $1-$7 each. Event admission is free. For more information contact the Newark Arts Alliance at 302-266-7266.

Exhibitor Information
Event is held outdoors, at the Academy building lawn in downtown Newark.

  • Marketplace exhibitors: 10' x 10'
  • Artists making original fine art, prints, crafts. No buy/sell items, only handmade work by the artist.
  • Businesses selling produce, plants, homemade foods, handmade soaps, jams, candles, etc.
  • Space fee: $30, no commissions on work sold
  • Exhibitors need to be ready to sell by 11am and stay until 4pm. Loading into space is between 8am and 10am. Limited parking available, you may need hand trucks to transport your goods to the space. All displays are the responsibility of the exhibitor. Space must be clean and trash removed by 5:30pm.

Exhibitors wishing to participate should submit an application, a check for the booth fee, and 3-5 images of what they wish to sell, preferably jpegs on a CD, but photos are o.k. If you've participated in the Newark Natural Food farmers market, you don't have to provide images, although we would love to have them for promotional purposes.

Musicians
Musicians will be assigned a 30-minute time slot on the Academy building steps between noon and 3pm. A $25 fee will be paid to each musical act for their performance. Musicians wishing to be hired should submit a CD with a sample of their music and an application.

Deadline for applications: August 1, 2009
Spaces and music time slots will be assigned as received, so get your application in early!
