Please do not send any before then. \nDo you have a body of work that would fill a space and has a consistent theme? The Gallery committee is seeking proposals for the 2026 exhibition schedule.  \nIndividuals or groups of artists may submit a proposal for a show in the main gallery some time in 2026. Groups of artists should have artwork with a similar theme to create a cohesive show.  \nStrong proposals will have a well thought out theme that is consistent for the body of work and not a sampling of many styles and mediums that an artist has created. At least 10 high quality images are also required for the proposal so the committee can get a clear idea of the quality of the work.  \nAn application fee of $15 for NAA members and $25 for non-members is required for submission\, payment mailed in or brought to NAA. DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Artists are invited to submit works to the exhibit\, Nature: The Large and the Small of It. Art in any medium that explores the micro or macro elements of nature. This show is juried by Sara Renzulli. The exhibit is on display from May 23-June 23 with an artists reception planned for Friday\, June 9\, 6:00-8:00pm. \nArtists can submit up to three works in any medium. They do not have to be a member to participte and the work does not have to be for sale. There is a submission fee of $10 per piece or $5 per piece for NAA members. \nHanging work must have a picture wire securely fastened with hardware to the back of the frame. Central hanging devices (e.g. rings and saw-tooth hangers) do not work with the NAA’s hanging system. Matts and glass on 2-D work should be clean and neat. Frames should be in good condition and not show signs of wear. Unframed paintings on stretched canvas are acceptable if neatly painted on the edges. All work should be clearly identified with the artists name\, title of work\, medium and price or NFS (not for sale). DESCRIPTION:Our Executive Director\, Terry Foreman has announced her plans to leave her position this Summer\, possibly as early as July 1st. When she started in her current position in Nov. 2019\, it was intended to be temporary. After helping the NAA to navigate through Covid and build membership and programs to a strong position\, she wishes to retire and work on her art and spend time with her family. She plans to continue supporting the NAA as a volunteer in a variety of ways and will stay involved. She is interested in supporting the NAA’s move whenever it happens. We are now seeking candidates for this position. \nExecutive Director for the Newark Arts Alliance  \nThe Newark Arts Alliance is seeking an Executive Director to lead the 30 year-old organization. Non-profit administrative experience is a must. Qualified candidates should be experienced in fundraising\, grant writing\, program development\, volunteer management\, public relations and community outreach. This is a part-time position for 24 hours a week. Hourly rate is negotiable. \nThe Newark Arts Alliance is located in Newark\, Delaware and operates a community art center with 360 membership households\, 60 volunteers and has gallery\, store and classroom space where a variety of programs are offered year long. The Executive Director position has flexible hours and some hours can be worked remotely. The organization has a robust schedule of monthly art exhibits\, classes for all ages and a popular two-week summer camp. \nThe Executive Director will work with several volunteer committees to plan exhibits and special events. We’re hosting our fourth Gingerbread House Competition which will be held at our annual Gingerbread Bash on Saturday\, December 3\, 6-9pm at the Newark Country Club. Past competitors have created houses\, monuments and structures of all kinds so don’t limit your thinking to “houses”. All ingredients should be edible. We’ll be awarding cash prizes. Our celebrity chef judge this year is Bríd Lee-Egan from Peach Blossom Eatery on Main St.\, in Newark. \nChef Bríd Lee-Egan has been a pastry enthusiast since she began baking with her grandmother making her signature carrot cake and other delights. She attended the Culinary Institute of American where she developed a passion for modern gastronomy and classical French pastry techniques. Since graduating from the CIA she has worked in many notable bakeries and restaurants including Talula’s Table and The Huntley Taverne. She is a member of The Junior League of Wilmington and has been featured in their annual kitchen tour. The main gallery will be divided into equal spaces for artists to set up their work. Artists must be NAA members to participate in this event. Work will be sold by gallery monitors and market artists during the event. All participating artists will be required to work some shifts during the event. There is no fee to apply. Booth fees are $85. Artists are required to work 16 hrs. during this six week event. Event runs from November 22 to December 31\, with extended evening and weekend hours. SUMMARY:Artisan Bird House Project
DESCRIPTION:The NAA is again having a fundraiser to coincide with the popular Newark Garden Tour\, which is scheduled for Saturday\, May 21\, 10am-3pm. Artists are asked to create or decorate a functional birdhouse that can be used outside. The NAA will provide wood birdhouses to anyone wishing to use them\, or an artist may create one from their own materials or purchased house. We ask that the birdhouses be outdoor ready\, sturdy and constructed with safe materials (no exposed glass shards\, nails\, etc.) and include a hanging hook or loop on the top. Artists will not be compensated for their work but will receive a free garden ticket and publicity through the NAA. DESCRIPTION:CALL FOR SOLO OR GROUP SHOWS FOR 2022!\nDo you have a body of work that would fill a space and has a consistent theme? The Gallery committee is seeking proposals for the 2022 exhibition schedule. Individuals or groups of artists may submit a proposal for a show in the Terry Foreman gallery some time in 2022. Groups of artists should have work with a similar theme to create a cohesive show. Strong proposals will have a well thought out theme that is consistent for the body of work and not a sampling of many styles and mediums that an artist has created. Good quality images are also an important part of the proposal so the committee can get a clear idea of the quality of the work. An application fee of $15 for NAA members and $25 for non-members is required for submission. If accepted\, an additional fee of $85 is required. Deadline to submit proposals is October 1\, 2021\, Artists will be notified by November 1\, 2021.

Craft show tents can also be used to cover the car and additional displays. The NAA will offer beer and wine for sale. The NAA will also have their galleries open for business. Take out snacks and dinner are available at Grain Restaurant\, located next door during the event and some bar style tables will be on hand for diners near the artists. DESCRIPTION:The Newark Arts Alliance displays art by local artists in monthly exhibitions throughout the year. Exhibitions are a mix of themed shows\, which are open to submission by all\, and Solo/Group shows which are planned the year before. The exhibit schedule for 2021 is open for submissions now. \nThe Newark Arts Alliance’s Exhibition Committee meets annually to choose the themes for the following year’s exhibitions. During this time\, the Exhibition Committee also reviews proposals for Solo and Group Shows. SUMMARY:Painted Rock Project
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The NAA is again having a fundraiser to coincide with the popular Newark Garden Tour\, which is scheduled for Saturday\, June 3\, 10am-3pm. Artists are asked to decorate a rock or series of rocks that can be displayed outside. We will provide rocks to anyone who would like them\, or an artist can use their own. We ask that the rocks be outdoor ready by sealing the surface with an outdoor sealant. They can be painted\, collaged or mosaicked. Are there other rock worthy methods? Artists will not be compensated for their work but will receive a free garden ticket and publicity through the NAA. All rocks become the property of the NAA.  \nDeadline to register: May 13\, 2023 \nDeadline to submit completed rock(s) and delivered to the NAA: Saturday\, May 20\, 4pm. \nWhere to drop off the rocks: Newark Arts Alliance\, 276 E. Main St.\, Ste. 102\, Newark\, DE 19711 \nHours: Tues\, Wed.\, Fri.\, Sat.\, 12-4pm\, Thurs.\, 4-7pm \nDisplay Details: On Saturday\, June 3\, 10am-4pm (the day of the Garden Tour\, the tour runs 10am-3pm)\, the decorated rocks will be displayed at the NAA in the Main Gallery. We will set the prices. Any rocks not purchased that day will be displayed in the Gallery Shop at the NAA and offered for sale. All proceeds benefit the NAA. \nOur rock or yours? The NAA will supply up to six rocks per artist OR you can obtain your own to embellish. \nHow to register: Artists should fill out the attached registration form and submit it via mail\, email\, or drop off to the NAA by May 13. \nNAA Rock Pick up: We can supply rocks for you to decorate. You may choose up to six rocks. Rocks may be picked up at the NAA during business hours any time starting April 18. \nPromotion & Perks: We will advertise your participation in this event through our website and social media. We will photograph your finished work and give you credit whenever possible. If you wish to share images of your artistic process\, we welcome them. Email to terry@newarkartsalliance.org.
