The Newark Arts Alliance’s Members Gallery Shop offers a variety of art by local artists, including paintings, photographs, pottery, jewelry, fabric art, clothing, cards, and more–with very competitive pricing! Our inventory changes regularly. You will feel good about what you buy, as your purchases support the artist and the Newark Arts Alliance.
Submitting Art to the Gallery Shop
Members of the Newark Arts Alliance may submit items to the Gallery Shop any time during regular hours for jurying by our Gallery Shop Committee. You will need to complete and sign a Gallery Inventory Sheet and tag your work(s). Our Gallery Monitors can assist you if you haven’t submitted work here before! To submit art, an artist must be at least 16 years old. Artists under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their submission form.
New work typically goes out when the Gallery Shop Committee meets on the first Monday of the month.
The NAA will take a 30% commission on sold works of art. If an artist volunteers for at least 3 hours during a month at the NAA as a Gallery Monitor, then the artist will be considered a “Working Member”—and the NAA will only take a 20% commission during that month.
Accepted work is typically displayed for up to three months. Artists will be notified if work has not been accepted or has been removed from display. Artists must pick up work promptly after notification. Work left more than 30 days after first notification will be considered a donation to benefit the Newark Arts Alliance.
The jury criteria: originality (no kits or copies); well-crafted, skillful execution; and professional presentation. All work must be for sale.
The Gallery Shop Committee
The Newark Arts Alliance’s Members Gallery Shop is coordinated by our Gallery Shop Committee. This Committee is comprised of an NAA Board Member and volunteers from our community. You may contact the Gallery Shop Committee by sending an email to Debbie Hegedus at email@example.com
Please note: NAA Members are guaranteed at least 1 item in the shop, pending standards for originality and quality. Due to space considerations, not all of an artist’s submissions will necessarily be accepted for display. The Committee will not respond to queries on why individual works were not accepted to the Gallery Shop.
