Volunteer Night

Join the NAA Volunteer Team!

Newark Arts Alliance volunteers make art happen in our community! Volunteer with us and you’ll find many opportunities to make use of your skills, experience, and enthusiasm to build our community through the arts.

Join us for a “Volunteer Night” on fourth Tuesdays, 6-9pm. These are planned during warmer months so watch for announcements about our next gathering.

We’ll work off a task list and do organizing, cleaning and light office work to get us in ship shape. You can pick your task and we’ll give you everything you need to get the job done. Light refreshments offered and the comradery of other arts loving folks like yourself. Please RSVP to Terry at terry@newarkartsalliance.org. We will let you know if you have a spot as we want to limit our volunteers to 6 each time.

Volunteer Opportunities

Become a Gallery Monitor!
Gallery monitors keep our doors open by working a 3-4 hr. shift each month in the galleries. Greet customers, sell art, give out information about NAA programs, answer the phone and meet interesting people! Gallery monitors who work one shift a month earn 10% extra commission on sold artwork from the shop or from exhibits. Training is required and it about 1 1/2 hrs. long. E-mail Terry at terry@newarkartsalliance.org to get scheduled for training. Membership is required.

Interested? Please complete our online Volunteer Application form. We’ll be in touch soon!

You can also complete a paper Volunteer Inquiry Form and return to the Newark Arts Alliance by email or regular mail; both addresses are listed at the bottom of the application form.

More ways to get involved!

Work Like Hell. Have Fun.

The Recruitment Committee needs new volunteers

The newly formed Recruitment Committee needs a serious injection of volunteers.

Or an injection of serious volunteers.

Our committee’s goal is simple: to recruit, train, and reward volunteers—the lifeblood of the Newark Arts Alliance.

But we can’t reach that goal without your help.

If you’re willing to devote time and energy to serving on our committee—about five hours a month—please raise your hand.

To volunteer, contact terry@newarkartsalliance.org and say, “I want to work like hell and have fun on the Recruitment Committee.”

What’s involved?

As a member of the Recruitment Committee, you’ll be asked to meet via Zoom monthly. During the meeting, we review our strategies and plan our future activities. You’ll have a voice in how the Alliance taps volunteers.

As a member of the committee, you’ll also be asked to carry out some of our planned activities. You’ll have responsibility for making sure our activities are executed smoothly and on time.

All told, we’re talking about as much as five hours a month.

If you want to work like hell and have a good time, this is the job for you!

You can read more about the committee here.
